Spirits of Bunya Bunya, 2016
"There is an air of mystery in his images of the Bunya Mountains forest which evoke primeval nature spirits and untold stories. Through the tonal atmosphere heightened by Parisi's black and white process, buttresses are the bones of a gentle beast amidst the fog and a bower is a tiny thatched grove on the forest floor."
"Cities today exist with a hybrid mix of man-made and natural elements, with nature rewinding gaps that have been discarded by human attention. Other spaces exist, less wild but cultivated to our own conceptions of balance and aesthetic.
My camera interact with these spaces to portray a range of connections, questions what it means to value life beyond material need. "
A project by Vincent Parisi & Samantha Haworth
"The creation of metamorphosis began as a feeling of disenchantment within a society the artists’ view as out of balance. What began as a conceptual series has evolved into an emotional narrative detailing the artists’ reverence for the monuments of nature.
The intimate relationship of the artists provides context for an underlying message of the project; that of resilience, positivity and appreciation."
